This is an important element to consider in order to measure the successes, deliverables, and items that need changing within your project. It is also often a deliverable from funding agencies or sponsors. The overall project evaluation should fit with your population, the issue you are working to solve, and the partnerships you have made. IT should be developed in the initial stages of the project. The performance measurement strategy should be developed at the program design stage when key decisions are being made about the programming model, delivery approaches, reporting requirements, and evaluations. Things to consider:
- What expectations do key partners or funding agencies have around reporting?
- Ensure that credible and reliable performance data are being collected to effectively support evaluation
- Develop methods for evaluating the project (see Evaluating the Project)
- Develop a performance measurement strategy including program profile and logic model (see Performance Measurement)
